about
Saskatchewan born, Alberta raised, and over a decade in the major centres of Vancouver and Toronto, Elias James has covered as much musical ground as he has physical. From prairie folk singer-songwriter, to mountainside blues guitarist, to downtown indie rocker and back again, Elias has found his home in the Canadian country music scene. And though you may not hear much twang in his voice, his roots as a wordsmith and his affection for contemporary pop country production shine through every song he sings.
His new single ‘Make A Memory’ marks a return to his folk beginnings. This nostalgic, one-that-got-away love song blends a lush organic sound with contemporary country songwriting, landing somewhere between modern traditionalists like Kameron Marlowe and Cody Johnson. Entirely self produced and performed, Elias’ latest offering is a true reflection of his vision and capability as an artist.
As a writer and producer, Elias has amassed over two million streams, two Top 100 songs at country radio (including one top 50), two NSAI Awards, and a CMAB Single of the Year win for the Hailey Benedict breakout ‘Damn You July’. His last single ‘Think About You’ has spent over a year on the SiriusXM Top of the Country charts.
